Equitech offers onsite grounding and power analysis by our technicians to determine the optimal solution for you. Our techs will:
Fully investigate and evaluate service entrance, to include:
- Documentation of phase, amperage and voltage available at the equipment
- Document approximate age of the equipment
- Measure L-N-L phase legs and look for discrepancies of greater than 2volts
- Evaluate waveform shape with Fluke 43B Power Quality Analyzer
- Photos of service panel and circuit legend
- Evaluate breakers and general condition of equipment including whole premise surge suppression
- Indicate any NEC violations
Fully investigate and evaluate any sub-panels, to include:
- Documentation of phase, amperage and voltage available at the equipment
- Document approximate age of the equipment
- Measure L-N-L phase legs and look for discrepancies of greater than 2volts
- Evaluate waveform shape with Fluke 43B Power Quality Analyzer
- Photos of service panel and circuit legend
- Evaluate breakers and general condition of equipment including whole premise surge-suppression
- Indicate any NEC violations
Analyze premises grounding system:
- Measure and document resistance to Earth of grounding system with Megger DET14C
- Document premises grounding system
- Evaluate general condition of ground rods, bonding clamps, ground wires if present
- Locate and Evaluate Gas-Water pipe Bonds
- Measure Amperage on Ground Wire (if amperage present indicative of wiring issues on premises)
- Evaluate and document size and number of grounding electrodes and bonding jumpers
- Electro Magnetic Field Evaluation
- Sweep property with Bell Labs EMF meter
- Document areas of high EMF (indicative of wiring errors on property)
- Note any nearby power lines or other sources of high EMF
- Evaluate circuits in audio production areas
- Evaluate number of audio only critical circuits, if any
- Evaluate noise inducing equipment that may be on the same circuit or phase leg as sensitive audio equipment
- Identify possible locations for new audio specific circuits
- Indicate any NEC violations
You will receive a full summary report with recommended repairs including any noted NEC violations. We will also recommend upgrades to improve performance of your electrical distribution system for audio/ video specific applications utilizing dedicated circuits, enhanced grounding means and balanced power isolation transformers.
